Shandong Shenghe Power's Biomass Power Generation Project Supports Rural Revitalization and Carbon Neutrality Goals

Recently, Shandong Shenghe Power Engineering Design Co., Ltd. successfully commissioned a 30MW agricultural and forestry waste biomass power generation project in Heze City, Shandong Province. The project processes approximately 300,000 tons of agricultural and forestry waste annually, generating 210 million kWh of electricity per year - equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by 85,000 tons and cutting CO2 emissions by 210,000 tons.


The project adopts internationally advanced circulating fluidized bed boiler technology, equipped with high-efficiency dust removal and desulfurization/denitrification systems, with emission indicators exceeding national standards. Notably, the project innovatively implemented a "company + farmers" raw material collection model, increasing incomes for over 2,000 local farming households by approximately 12,000 yuan per household annually, achieving both economic and social benefits.


Chief Engineer of Shandong Shenghe Power, stated: "Compared with traditional coal-fired power plants, biomass power generation has significant environmental advantages. We are currently developing second-generation biomass gasification coupled power generation technology, which is expected to increase power generation efficiency to over 40%."


Currently, the company has constructed and operates 6 biomass power generation projects in Shandong, Hebei, Jiangsu and other regions, with a total installed capacity of 180MW. These projects process about 1.8 million tons of agricultural and forestry waste annually, creating over 600 local employment opportunities for farmers.


With the introduction of China's "14th Five-Year Plan" for bioeconomy development, the biomass energy industry is embracing new opportunities. Shandong Shenghe Power plans to invest in 10 biomass cogeneration projects over the next three years to support rural energy transformation and carbon neutrality goals.
